The Principles of Beautiful Web Design
When I picked up this book awhile ago, I was surprised how thorough it was. It does a fantastic job explaining tons of timeless design concepts in simple terms that are accessible to anybody. This book is perfect if you desire to learn how to design pleasing websites, or as a refresher if your abilities just don't feel quite "there" yet. When people ask me for a resource on this subject I generally exclaim "Pick up a copy of The Principles of Beautiful Web Design!", to which I highly recommend!
CSS: The Missing Manual
Personally, I think this is the best resource on Cascading Style Sheets ever made. After about a month of using this book I was able to transform my formerly mediocre CSS skills into a near-guru level. It will fill in any gaps you may have in your knowledge of the language, and will share with you tons of techniques that modern professionals use to get the best results. Truly the missing manual of CSS.
The OpenGL SuperBible will give you a solid foundation on the OpenGL API, and all of the essential 3D theory behind using it. This book, along with the OpenGL Blue Book, are the tools you'll need to truly unlock your potential with OpenGL whether you're a total newcomer or just needing to brush up on this fantastic graphics API.
OpenGL Blue Book
The definitive and essential API reference manual to OpenGL. While it's a fairly large reference, having it on my desk to refer to while learning OpenGL has saved me many countless hours and is well worth the price of admission.
On My Honor, I Will
A truly inspiring self improvement book. One of the few books I would genuinely call life changing. If you seek to improve your personal and business relationships, I would highly recommend this book to you. On a side note, this book does have some light religious undertones, if you are non-religious, don't let this be a turnoff for you as it is certainly one of the best books I've ever read on the subject.
